Alison's group designs novel magnetic resonance spectroscopy for use in metabolic research. Alison has worked at the WBIC since 2003 and is affiliated to both the NIHR Cambridge Clinical Research Facility and Wellcome - MRC Institute of Metabolic Science. Her groups interests relate to the applications of magnetic resonance, in particular to mitochondrial function as well as in studying insulin resistance.

Alison is very open to collaborative discussions about potential future studies that may use magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
